Core Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage complex federal and state partnership tax engagements from planning through completion, ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery
  • Review partnership tax returns, including Forms 1065, K-1s, and related schedules prepared by staff and senior associates
  • Advise clients on partnership formations, restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, and liquidations
  • Analyze complex partnership agreements, operating agreements, and waterfall structures to identify tax implications and planning opportunities
  • Manage client relationships, serving as a primary point of contact for technical questions and strategic tax matters
  • Identify and communicate tax risks, issues, and opportunities clearly to clients and engagement teams
  • Supervise, coach, and develop managers, seniors, and staff assigned to partnership tax engagements
  • Collaborate with partners on business development activities, proposal preparation, and client presentations
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting partnership taxation and communicate relevant changes to clients and internal teams
  • Contribute to firm initiatives including training programs, technical publications, and thought leadership content

Must-Have Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; Master's degree in Taxation or related discipline strongly preferred
  • CPA license required
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive public accounting experience with a significant focus on partnership taxation
  • Deep technical knowledge of Subchapter K, including partnership allocations, basis calculations, at-risk rules, and passive activity regulations
  • Experience with tiered partnership structures, carried interest arrangements, and section 754 elections
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance requirements for partnerships
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Prior experience supervising and developing professional staff
  • Experience with tax research tools such as Bloomberg Tax, Checkpoint, or equivalent platforms
