Core Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients in accordance with physician-approved treatment plans
- Operate and maintain linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment safely and efficiently
- Position patients accurately and consistently using immobilization devices and imaging verification techniques
- Monitor patients during treatment sessions, observing and documenting physical and emotional responses
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment delivery data and progress notes
- Collaborate closely with dosimetrists, radiation oncologists, and nursing staff to coordinate comprehensive care
- Educate patients and their families about treatment procedures, expected side effects, and self-care strategies
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on equipment to ensure proper calibration and operational safety
- Adhere strictly to all radiation safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and institutional policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives
Must-Have Requirements
- Current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (ARRT)
- Active state licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure in Idaho prior to start date
- Minimum of one year of clinical radiation therapy experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered
- Proficiency with linear accelerator operation and image-guided radiation therapy techniques
- Strong understanding of oncology patient care principles and radiation safety regulations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to support patients through emotionally challenging situations
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification is a plus
