Core Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial loan clients, including small businesses, mid-sized companies, and real estate investors
- Solicit new commercial lending business through networking, referrals, community involvement, and cold outreach strategies
- Conduct detailed financial analysis of business clients, including review of tax returns, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss reports
- Structure, underwrite, and present commercial loan packages that meet credit policy guidelines and client financing objectives
- Collaborate with internal credit teams to ensure loan submissions are complete, accurate, and well-supported with appropriate documentation
- Monitor existing loan portfolio performance, identifying early warning signs of credit deterioration and taking proactive steps to mitigate risk
- Maintain current knowledge of commercial lending regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
- Represent the organization at local business events, chamber of commerce functions, and community gatherings to promote lending services
- Provide exceptional client service throughout the loan origination process, maintaining clear communication from application through closing
Must-Have Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in commercial lending, business banking, or a closely related financial services role
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial statements and assess business creditworthiness accurately
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate, business term loans, lines of credit, and SBA lending programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse business clients
- Proficiency with loan origination software and standard financial analysis tools
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally within the Fort Collins and northern Colorado region as needed
